Firstly, we pride ourselves on the fact that our showroom staff are actually trained to be able to advise and answer all your questions. Our staff are not incentivised by commission and so are able to ensure that you, the customer, goes away with the deal that best suits YOU!
Secondly, our delivery, technical and aftersales service is second to none. We continually invest in training and new equipment which enables us to repair the equipment we supply and rent. A free loan set is always supplied when workshop repairs are required.
A BRIEF HISTORY
Why is Snellings based in the middle of the Norfolk countryside?
Simple. This is where the adventure all began, in a disused laundry, in 1954.
Since then, we’ve had no reason to move, just to expand.
Back then it was Roy Snelling and a few local customers.
Today, over 50 years on, Snellings has become one of Norfolk's most admired businesses. The company now employs 40 staff with a database of over 30,000 customers!
Roy Snelling became a byword for getting TV where no service previously existed, so that when the Tacolneston transmitter opened in 1955, all the 'locals' knew where to come.
Always one jump ahead, Roy was the first with radio-telephones in the cars and vans, first with ITV (the Pye VT4,as displayed in our Museum, needed no tuning when the service came!), first with TV on Broads Cruisers and first with Satellite. The customer has always come first with Snellings, so that when Channel 4 came along, all their sets had been pre-tuned two years ahead of time!
This foresight for the future has continued and with the introduction of Channel 5, Sky and Terrestrial Digital broadcasts, DVD equipment and Plasma Televisions, Roy Snelling saw the need to expand the technical service side of the company by building a dedicated workshop facility. This new complex, built beside the original site, enables the Service Engineers to give the best treatment to the equipment they sell and rent. This makes Snellings one of the few dealers who still carry out their own repairs and still offer prices which compete with, and often beat, the multiples.
If this is not enough, another new complex has just been completed, again alongside the original site, which is intended to house a Museum and a highly technical Audio-Visual Studio for Business users. This will put Snellings at the forefront of Digital Presentation equipment that integrates with the latest computer software for Video Conferencing over high speed Digital telephone lines.
